Information Visitors Submit
Terms Entered in Search
A name, location, or other detail entered in a search tool is transmitted to the third-party provider that operates that tool. Murray County Released Inmates does not store or log those search terms on its own systems. The provider receives the query so it can return its results, and that provider's own privacy terms govern its handling of the submitted information.
Emails and Contact Messages
Information sent by email or through a contact form is retained as needed to read the request and provide a response. A message may include the sender's address and any details the sender chooses to provide. Contact messages are not shared outside the organization unless disclosure is legally required.
Technical Visit Information
Standard technical records may be created when a browser loads a page. They help show whether the site is working, how it is reached, and how visitors move through it. These records can include:
- The internet protocol address associated with the request
- The browser name and version used for the visit
- The device category and operating system
- Pages opened and the time spent on them
- The referring website, when one is supplied
- Date and time stamps for requests
Cookie Controls
Cookies may be used to understand how visitors use the site and to support site functions. A browser can be configured to reject or delete cookies. Blocking them may cause some features or preferences to behave differently.
Reasons Data Is Used
Collected information is used only for ordinary site operations and service delivery. Those uses include:
- Keeping pages available, responsive, and reliable
- Sending search requests to the appropriate partner service
- Learning which Murray County release-record pages visitors find useful
- Detecting errors, misuse, and other technical problems
- Displaying advertising that may reflect a visitor's interests
Privacy Beyond This Site
Links may lead to the Murray County Sheriff's Office, Minnesota Department of Corrections, courts, federal custody locators, release-record sources, or third-party search tools. Once a visitor follows an outside link, the destination's terms and privacy policy control. Murray County Released Inmates does not set those outside practices.
Some advertising partners may use their own systems to measure activity across websites and select interest-based advertising. Any cross-site tracking performed by those partners occurs through their services rather than systems controlled by Murray County Released Inmates.
Parties That May Receive Data
Personal information is not sold. Limited information may reach another party when that party performs a stated function or when disclosure is compelled by law. Possible recipients are:
- Search partners that process queries submitted through their tools
- Analytics providers that measure traffic and page performance
- Advertising networks that deliver or measure advertisements
- Law-enforcement agencies or other government bodies acting under a valid legal order
Data Security Measures
Reasonable, standard safeguards are used to protect information under the site's control. No internet transmission, connected service, or storage method is completely secure. Murray County Released Inmates therefore cannot promise that information will never be intercepted, lost, misused, or accessed without permission.
Visitors Younger Than 18
Murray County Released Inmates is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. A parent or guardian who believes a minor submitted personal information may contact the site and request deletion of the material under its control.
Privacy Choices and Requests
Subject to applicable law and the nature of the information held, a visitor may ask to:
- Receive a copy of personal information maintained by the site
- Correct inaccurate personal information
- Delete personal information when a valid erasure request applies
- Opt out of certain processing where that choice is available
